Interested in Serving on Advisory Council for Sherwood Recreation Center?

The following update about Sherwood Recreation Center, at 9th and G Streets NE, was submitted to the ANC 6A listserv on Sept. 9 by Joseph Fengler, chairman of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6A (the ANC for the Corner Forum area). [The Sherwood Recreation Center] will have a community-elected recreation council that will make recommendations on programming for the facility.

I am not sure how the elections will take place, but if you are interested in serving, please contact Lou Hall (Parks and Recreation Service, Ward Six Manager) e-mail: lou.hall@dc.gov.

There will be a wide array of programs offered — some will have a few and other will be free. Generally speaking, if the center has to pay for an instructor (aerobics, etc.), there will be fees collected to offset that cost.

This is why the Recreation Advisory Council will be very important in providing input on all programming matters. §
